ARTIST PROFILE ***Kameko***

KAMEKO is a Baltimore native that has packed venues and built a legion of devoted followers abroad over the last few years. KAMEKO has also collaborated with A-list talents such as Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, Grace Jones, Vanessa Williams and more. The "Tired of Being Broke" single will be released through Tarpaul Records/Interscope Distribution, available on iTunes and other digital outlets March, 2011. Albums will be in store Summer 2011.

KAMEKO's album features tracks produced by Marc Cary (BET jazz artist of the year winner), Paulo Goude (son of legendary singer/model Grace Jones and fashion icon, Jean Paul-Goude), Nayrok Udab (sister of Erykah Badu) and M1 of Dead Prez.

Water.org, a non-profit organization co-founded by Oscar winning actor Matt Damon and executive director Gary White, has teamed up alongside music legend Rita Marley to support the new pop/rock/soul artist KAMEKO and his "Tired of Being Broke" Musical Stimulus Gift Package Tour, which will kick off at Liberia's ATS stadium on March 19, 2011.
During this tour, KAMEKO will offer financial assistance to various charities such as The Mali Health Project and Habitat for Humanity through a portion of tour proceeds, product giveaways and coupons from sponsors for discounts on food, clothing and various necessities.

“Music is a medium of teaching and learning,” says Rita Marley, widow of Bob Marley, “…that’s why I chose to endorse KAMEKO’s effort and want to be part of it.”

We need more talented artists in the world like this
